About the Artists

Our creative journey with canvas and glass began many years ago, sparked by curiosity and sustained by a shared devotion to making beauty tangible. We come from a tapestry of backgrounds - art, education, nursing, accounting—each path adding its own texture, discipline, and imagination to the work we create today. This blend of experiences lives quietly within every brushstroke and every piece of fused glass, shaping art that is both expressive and deeply personal.

All of our work is born in our home studios, where ideas evolve slowly and intentionally into one-of-a-kind creations. No two pieces are ever the same. Each carries its own voice - sometimes bold, sometimes subtle—but always unique.

Our collections include paintings in oil, watercolor, and acrylic, alongside a wide range of glass artistry: nightlights that glow softly, framed glass scenes designed to brighten windows, freestanding glass landscapes, vases, bowls, platters, ornaments, and handcrafted jewelry. One of our newest creations—a watercolor card paired with a delicate sun catcher—brings together paper and glass in a single gift: a moment of art within a moment of light.

We hope these pieces bring inspiration into your space, just as creating them continues to inspire us.

Jan Underdown - Owner & Artist | Firefly Glass & Canvas

My path has been anything but linear, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I began in retail, later became a registered nurse, and eventually earned a degree in accounting, becoming a CPA. Each chapter taught me something different about people, precision, and resilience.

Through it all, creativity remained a constant current in my life. I’m especially drawn to the way glass transforms under heat—how it captures, bends, and releases light in unexpected ways. There is something endlessly fascinating about that transformation, where intention meets surprise. It reminds me that beauty often lives in change, and possibilities truly are without limit.

Linda George Owner & Artist | Firefly Glass & Canvas

My journey began in art education, where I earned a master’s degree, later expanding into counseling. I spent many fulfilling years teaching middle school art - a stage where imagination is fearless and every student discovers they are capable of more than they realize.

In retirement, I returned fully to my own creative practice in painting and glasswork. Each day begins with the same sense of anticipation: the desire to make something meaningful, something unexpected.

Glass, in particular, continues to amaze me. The kiln has a way of participating in the process, reshaping intention into surprise. What begins as a plan often becomes something entirely new—and I’ve learned to welcome that transformation. In glass, there are no mistakes, only discoveries.

Meet Bijou George!

Bijou George (known as "BG") is our official Firefly Glass & Canvas. She is always with us and inspires us with her sweet disposition.

She has a bed underneath the kiln, which is the safest and warmest place for her to oversee all our creations!

We do our best work when she is by our side. We love BG!
